    It's s bit annoying that changing the channel in kodi takes a while. Apparantly it didn't used to in previous versions.

    Anyhow, I searched the problem and found the solution. In your portal link, change the last bit from "output=mpegts" to "output=hls" then reboot kodi. Channels should change almost instantly now.

    Works within Ivue guide too.

    :)

    Did you reboot kodi? What hardware are you on? I did this on a fire tv. I had to relink all of my channels back to Ivue though due to kodi thinking they were different because I changed the m3u.

    I use Pi2 and yes I did reset Kodi, but I maybe should try install iptv on my dreambox. i heard that it works very nice. Then I can have only one box in front of tv.

    If you want HLS at the end of the line make sure you have this

    type=m3u&output=hls

    Hi guys,
    Basing on my tests, to fix the problem you have to:
    1) use the last test build of Kodi 16
    2) better using a list that contains files with extension "m3u8" instead of "ts" or change the end line to type=m3u&output=hls
    3) work with cache parameters: HOW-TO:Modify_the_video_cache (wiki)

    I used the followning parameters

    <advancedsettings>
    <network>
    <buffermode>1</buffermode>
    <cachemembuffersize>157286400</cachemembuffersize>
    <readbufferfactor>5</readbufferfactor>
    </network>
    <pvr>
    <minvideocachelevel>30</minvideocachelevel>
    <minaudiocachelevel>30</minaudiocachelevel>
    </pvr>
    </advancedsettings> :

    It worked much faster :)

    Yeah we have noticed that. We will give our KODI users lines with m3u8 extension from now on

    + Yes and when finished (as you go back to the first page) don't forget to click on "Write XML File" to save your new settings

    Just theoreticaly, do I just have to change the ending of the streamlink from .ts to .m3u8?

    Is it possible to provide a small testlist of 5-10 channels to test the switch performance on kodi (raspberry pi)?

    I want to buy a subscripton for my parents, but when the switching time is to long, I see the complaing (parents 2 me) coming! ;-)

    Not sure about yaman's suggestion but can tell you that the ts version works well...then again, make sure your Parents don't expect Kodi's version/box/else to match their cable/satellite!
    I'm not a Rapid Staff but why would you want Rapid to provide a small sampler? Get what they have and test if you must. Or test regular Kodi addons for your folks.... Bottom line, your're not going to duplicate their current cable/satelitte quality and surely not meet their habits (never happens with older folks).At least, it'll be cheaper and that, they might understand... Good luck and Merry Christmas!

    If you just change the MPEGTS to HLS at the end of the line address, it will be fine (and if you open the link with HLS you will download a playlist with .m3u8 extension)

    @ Admin: Would be nice to actually access the EXTINF Playlist in txt format as i'd be easy to remove unwanted channels... This said I think I know why you can't give us access to it...
    Anyway the HLS extension and/or m3u8 work fine, keep up the good job! Merry Christmas.

    Well you can always open the list with some txt editor just change the extension to *.txt instead of *.m3u8.

    What do i do if I want to use the m3u file instead of the streamlink? I can make kodi switch channels a lot faster if I use the streamlink and change the ending to type=m3u&output=hls.. But if I change the ending of the m3u file to m3u8 there's no change in the channel change speed at all..
    But there is no way I can use type=m3u&output=hls in the m3u file? Only if I use the streamlink?

    But how do i use that in the file itself and not the streamlink? The fileextension is .m3u, I can't set the file ending to be: "m3u_plus&output=mpegts"?

    For m3u8 use HLS instead of MPEGTS in the line URL.
